Human Growth Project

Human Growth and Child Development 1   Open to sophomores, juniors and seniors
This course is designed to introduce students to the world of children from prenatal development to age five. The first semester of this year-long course concentrates on prenatal development to age two. Second semester concentrates on theories of development from age two to five. Course topics include: social, emotional, physical and intellectual development of young children. This course fulfills the graduation requirement for Fine/Practical Arts.

Human Growth and Child Development 2
This course is designed to introduce students to the world of children from age five to thirteen. The first semester of this year-long course concentrates on the development of the child from age five to ten. Second semester concentrates on theories of development from age ten to thirteen. Course topics include: social, emotional, physical and intellectual development of young children. In this course, students spend a minimum of four periods a week in a local elementary school or professional growth program with children.  The prerequisite for this course is Human Growth and Child Development I. This course fulfills the graduation requirement for Fine/Practical Arts.
