OPEN TO FRESHMEN, SOPHOMORES, JUNIORS, AND SENIORS 1.0 MAJOR CREDIT AT LEVEL 9 / .5 ELECTIVE CREDIT
This course emphasizes the development of creative ideas and fosters the integration of imagination with problem-solving skills. Units are constructed to engage student learners while helping them see, analyze, create, understand, and articulate their experiences of the visual world. Students explore a variety of media and techniques (drawing, painting, sculpture, print- making, ceramics, computer imaging, etc.) and deepen their appreciation of art making through a global and historical perspective. Homework is assigned to students taking this course for major credit. Students are required to purchase an art kit or certain art materials.
