The Trevians came out strong and jumped out to a 7-0 lead before the Pioneers were able to get on the board. The offense kept rolling and New Trier defeated East Grand Rapids 18-5.
Claudia Shevitz fed to Lucy Murray as she cut in front of the goal for the first goal at 21:42, and strong defense enabled the Trevians to score their first four goals on feeds inside the 8 meter, beating the Pioneer backer zone with good ball movement and backdoor cuts. Murray fed to Emma Merk, Izzi King and Charlie Meier for the next three scores.
East Grand Rapids wasn't able to get the ball and a strong defense led by Madison Smith's four caused turnovers, two of which were interceptions and Meier's four ground balls, let the offense control the ball and lead 14-2 at half.

Merk had a career day with two goals and an assist. Mary Burke also added a goal. Meier had two goals and four draw controls. Macy Zaban and Ella Huber came in to direct several draws, each grabbing one and then combining to get seven ground balls.
