At a large, tastefully-appointed Sneden's Landing townhouse, the Deputy Mayor of New York has just shot himself. Though only a flesh wound, four couples are about to experience a severe attack of Farce. Gathering for their tenth wedding anniversary, the host lies bleeding in the other room, and his wife is nowhere in sight. His lawyer, Ken, and wife, Chris, must get "the story" straight before the other guests arrive. As the confusions and mis-communications mount, the evening spins off into classic farcical hilarity.
Ken Gorman (M): A well-spoken intelligent quick thinking attorney
Chris Gorman (F): Ken's wife who is well-meaning, intelligent, and a bit high strung
Lenny Ganz (M): An accountant, extremely sarcastic but very likable
Claire Ganz (F): The town gossip, loves to spread news and overhear information
Ernie Cusak (M): A psychiatrist, very smug and a bit pretentious
Cookie Cusak (F): Host of her own cooking show, very over dramatic and excitable
Glenn Cooper (M): Ambitious man running for state senate, very driven and serious
Cassie Cooper (F): Very manipulative and able to get others to do what she wants
Officer Welch (M/F): Veteran police officer, seen it all
Officer Pudney (M/F): A rookie cop, and Welch's partner

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO THE AUDITIONS?
Wear clothes that you can move in and make you look and feel good. Make sure your hair is out of your face. Avoid jeans, sneakers, flip-flops, or Uggs. Do not wear costumes.
WHAT ABOUT THE MONOLOGUE?
Pick one of
monologues or one of your own choosing (1 minute long) for your audition.
All selections should be memorized.
YOU MAY PERFORM ANY OF THE MONOLOGUES, REGARDLESS OF GENDER. CHANGE PRONOUNS AS NEEDED. After you perform your monologue, you may be asked to start it again with a different intention or focus. It's not because your first interpretation was wrong. Instead, the directors are interested in learning more about your range as a performer and how you respond to direction. Think of it as a mini callback.
A Callback audition will be held on Wednesday, March 21 at 3:30pm. The callback list will be posted on the NT Audition Hotline 1-847-446-7000 ext. 5053 after auditions the evening of Tuesday, March 20.
