On Camera Acting Workshop with Acting Studio Chicago September 10 and 17

ON CAMERA ACTING WORKSHOP WITH ACTING STUDIO CHICAGO

This two-day workshop will introduce students to the technical aspects of working in front of the camera and acting for the camera.

Classes are Saturday, September 10 and Saturday, September 17 from 11:00am to 3:15pm at the Winnetka Campus.

Registration will run August 1 through August 29. The fee is $20.00. Students must attend both sessions in their entirety.

Day One will focus on commercial interviews and direct-to-camera "single person copy." Concepts include: helping not selling, using yourself/personalization, creating relationships, playing an action, sense of humor, and listening and discoveries.

Day Two will feature work with comedic, television scripts and techniques including: game playing, competition, pace, and discoveries. The workshop will close with a conversation about the business of entertainment.

Students will receive a short reading prior to the workshops to establish a common vocabulary for the first session. Playback and feedback is offered on both days.

PLAYWRITING WITH NORTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL INSTITUTE

This three-day workshop will allow students to experiment with the basic elements of playwriting including characters, dialogue, and setting. Students will share and receive feedback on their work and have opportunities to revise and deepen their writing.

Classes are scheduled for Tuesday, October 4, Monday, October 10, and Monday, October 17 from 6:00 to 9:00pm at the Winnetka Campus in W444.

Registration will begin September 7. There is no registration fee but students are expected to attend all sessions in their entirety. Click HERE to register or:

Select student work will be presented in the Theatre 4 student directing projects and a showcase at Northwestern University.
