HOW ARE WE CONNECTED?

We are connected to every single club at New Trier High School. To put it in simpler terms, STUDENT ALLIANCE is the heart of all clubs. With over 130 student organizations, keeping track of them all is a massive job. This is where STUDENT ALLIANCE comes in as the club liaison. We are responsible for approving clubs, as well organizing events where clubs can come together, including Budget Day and the Club Head Luncheon.

STARTING A CLUB

If you're interested in starting a club at New Trier, visit Ms. Kolack in the Student Activities office (located in the Student Lounge at the Winnetka Campus). You'll fill out some paperwork and then be referred to us to follow through with it!

BUDGET DAY

Budget Day occurs every spring. Led by the STUDENT ALLIANCE Treasurer and a committee of five to six board members, club heads come to the room and request funds for the next school year. Budget request forms are sent to all club heads and sponsors at least one month before budget day. When clubs turn in their budget request form, they are required to sign up for a time slot to meet with us.

BECOME A PART OF STUDENT ALLIANCE!

All New Trier Students are permitted to run as a STUDENT ALLIANCE board member and may run for an officer position after being on board for at least one school year. These opportunities will come at the end of each year.

By becoming a STUDENT ALLIANCE representative, you must:

  • Have a free period every day, which will be arranged by the school so it will be everyday third period
recognize that they must treat Student Alliance as a regular class period

IF YOU ARE A FRESHMAN:

  • Go to Mr. Gross's office (in cafeteria) for an election packet in April, and he will correspond with you further.

IF YOU ARE A SOPHOMORE OR JUNIOR:

  • Application to sign up for SA will be distributed to your advisery during your 4th Quarter constituency visits.
