A new year symbolizes change, and here at New Trier Extension, we're embracing it. In 2017, there will be a variety of new class offerings for our lifelong learners.
The winter/spring New Trier Extension catalog will be mailed to New Trier Township residents the week of Jan. 2, and online registration will go live. The catalog includes 175 courses, including perennial favorites, plus many new offerings this year.
"It's rewarding to meet the diverse needs of our constituents," New Trier Extension Manager DeDe Kern said. "We are excited to offer these new courses and many of our favorites for all ages in the community."
New classes in the winter/spring 2017 catalog include seasonally-themed cooking classes, courses in the new Healthy Living section and the exciting new Playwright's Journey workshop.
There is also a variety of athletic course offerings, such as the popular Learn to Row for women, where students get out and practice on the water in the spring, and other erg classes for the winter. Other program offerings include: Art, Bridge/Mah Jongg, Computers, Financial Planning, Fencing, T'ai Chi, Language, Fitness, Writing and Photography.
Courses are offered Monday-Saturday at several locations, including New Trier's two campuses in Winnetka and Northfield, Am Yisrael and Wilmette Park District's Community Center.
Registration for all winter and spring courses can be completed online 24-7 at https://newtrier.revtrak.net/tek9.asp?pg=RW_NTX . Forms can also be mailed, faxed or turned in at the New Trier Extension office, 7 Happ Road, Northfield.
