Sophomore named New Trier’s first-ever DECA International Champion

Nine New Trier students from DECA, a competitive student club that prepares emerging high school leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management, qualified for internationals after being named state finalists in Illinois.

The students attended the International Career Development Conference in Atlanta, Georgia, from April 21 through April 24, where they competed among more than 10,000 members in DECA's Competitive Events Program. The industry-validated competitive events require students to demonstrate college and career knowledge and skills, and are aligned with National Curriculum Standards in the career clusters of marketing, business management and administration, finance, and hospitality and tourism.
