2018 StC Kaskey

Seven unanswered goals in the second half helped New Trier pull away to beat St. Charles 19-8.

The Trevians jumped out to a 4-0 lead, but St. Charles responded back with two goals with 11:59 left in the half. New Trier and the Stars traded pairs of goals to make it 8-4 until the closing minute saw to fast break goals make it 9-5 at half.

In the second half, again, both teams traded a pair of goals, but then the Trevian defense stiffened and sparked several fast breaks off turnovers and the offense capitalized to put the game out of reach. Lucy Murray had a season high 7 goals and 3 assists, Claudia Shevitz had 3 draw controls and 4 goals, Courtney Kaskey had 3 goals and Charley Meier had a career high 6 draw controls. Gabby Malnati led the defense forcing two turnovers.
