New Trier used an explosive offensive effort to defeat Kentucky Country Day 23-10. The Trevs offense shot 72% and had several players with career bests to help take down the Bearcats.
The Trevs jumped out to a 5-0 lead and went up 11-4 to pull away from Kentucky Country Day. The Bearcats rallied at the end of the half to make it 14-7 at half, but New Trier outscored the guests from Kentucky 9-3 in the second half.
Senior Lucy Murray had a career best 11 points, junior Annie Thompson had a career high six assists and junior Claudia Shevitz had a career high seven goals.
The Trevians had 16 draw controls, led by a career high of nine by Shevitz and five by Charley Meier. Meier also had a career best four caused turnovers. New Trier had 13 caused turnovers to help control the tempo and keep the ball away from the Bearcats offense.
Senior Kate Burnham had a career high nine saves also.
