The Trevians controlled the ball and tempo to hold off a well coached and determined Arrowhead team 18-2 on "Teacher Appreciation Day". New Trier heads into the playoffs as the #2 seed in the state tournament with an 18-3 record.
New Trier scored eight unanswered goals before the Warhawks got on the board. The offense shot 18 of 24, and the Trevs pressure defense and draw controls enabled them to control the game. New Trier controlled 16 of 22 draws. Eight different players scored, with Sophia King and Claudia Shevitz both leading the attack with four goals each. King also added four assists. Emma Tomlinson, Elise McKenna and Sophie McGinnis led the defense and Claire Gottreich forced two of the team's eight caused turnovers.
