In a game where both teams played tough defense in an early low scoring game, New Trier came back to make the score 6-5 in the second half, but Loyola pulled away for an 11-6 win.
Kate Burnham had a career day in goal with 14 saves and the defense held an explosive offense to one goal in the first 16 minutes of the game, but with the game tied 1-1, the Ramblers capitalized on three turnovers by the Trevians to go up 4-1 at half.
New Trier came back in the second half with goals by Claudia Shevitz, Lucy Murray and Izzi King, but were unable to rally back late when Loyola went on a run to make it 11-5. Charley Meier scored a late goal for the Trevs.
Loyola dominated time of possession and owned the draws, and New Trier had costly turnovers that gave the Ramblers scoring opportunities. Anna Resnick did have three caused turnover and two ground balls to lead the defense.
