Beck Bennet , a Wilmette native and New Trier graduate is one of 6 new cast members of "Saturday Night Live." While at New Trier Bennet played many roles in the performing arts department, sang in the choir and competed in lacrosse and football. After leaving New Trier Bennet attended USC where he earned a degree in 2007. You may know him from the popular AT&T commercial that features Bennet sitting at a table with a group of young children asking simple and obvious questions. The popular ad campaign, "It's Not Complicated", delighted viewers and led up to this recent news of his new role on "Saturday Night Live." New Trier Theatre Director Nina Lynn worked with Beck and said, "I'm not surprised. All along he had a great work ethic, sense of humor; he wasn't afraid to try something new."

Ryan Lucas , a former New Trier graduate and theatre student at University of Michigan, is in the process of producing RENT. Ryan runs a student musical theatre organization called MUSKET - Michigan Union Shows, Ko-Eds Too. While Ryan was at New Trier he was involved with and co-produced Lagniappe-Potpourri. It was during this time that he worked closely with Mary Catherine Hayes, a fellow theatre student and New Trier graduate. Mary Catherine passed away in June after a long battle with cancer. Ryan is dedicating RENT to Mary Catherine, "Producing our generation's quintessential show about love and living in the moment feels like the best way I can honor the mentor who's love and presence always left me better than before." New Trier graduate Colin MacGregor, 22, recently won first place and "the student award" in Born Free USA's annual fur-free fashion competition for his "Boom, Bam, Pow" 100 % cotton patchwork sweater. "My Inspiration for this sweater was my childhood obsession with superheroes," MacGregor said. MacGregor is pursuing a bachelor's degree in apparel design from the Rhode Island School of Design along with an economics degree from Brown University. Hadley Kennary , 2011 New Trier graduate released her debut album "In Fall" on August 13. She sings and plays guitar in all but the last song on her album in which she plays piano. She describes her music as mellow pop. Kennary has been studying music business management and song writing at Berklee College of Music in Boston. " Set Up ", a play co-produced by New Trier teacher Nina Lynn and written by New Trier teacher Anne James-Noonan's husband, Dan Noonan, has recently won the 2013 Neil Simon Festival New Play Contest. Almost 100 plays were submitted; each one had to be an original, full length, character driven comedy that had not been produced before. Local artist Lucy Engelman , a New Trier and University of Michigan grad, had her work featured in the Chicago edition of Daily Candy on May 2, 2012. The Chicago edition of Daily Candy, the online arbiter of all things hip and worthwhile, highlighted Lucy's both naturalistic and fanciful drawings and watercolors, including her Hybrid Animal series featuring such creatures as parachuted sheep and her most recent collection, Bird-Tree-Flower , which celebrates what nature offers best in each state of the union. A concert reading of the new musical TABLE TURNS, written by New Trier graduate Sheila Rae and Michele Bourman, will be on Monday, November 21 , at 8 pm , at the LIGHT OPERA WORKS Second Stage (McGaw YMCA Children's Center Auditorium, 1420 Maple in Evanston).General admission is $15 at the door, or by calling (847) 920-5360. TABLE TURNS is a musical evening of five shorts, each with a surprising turn of events in contemporary love and life. It was a finalist for the Heideman Award given by the Actors' Theatre of Louisville. This is the first event in the Words and Music series of Midwest New Musicals , a musical theater writers workshop, in association with Light Opera Works. TABLE TURNS is written by Ms. Rae and Northwestern University graduate Michele Bourman. Director is Jeff Dumas, music director is Jessica Hunt. Midwest New Musicals workshop director is John Sparks. Performers are Kelli Harrington, Jasmine Ryan, David Skvaria and Greg Tate.

Holland Gibson , 2010 graduate of NTHS and four year member of the NT choir program, has continued his passion for music by being selected for the Glee Club at the United States Military Academy at West Point. He sings the Tenor 1 part and has enjoyed the travel and performance opportunities the Glee Club has provided. Since Holland became a member, the Glee Club has performed the Half -Time Show at the Army vs. Notre Dame Football game at Yankee Stadium and at the Army vs. Navy Football game in Philadelphia, PA. They just returned from singing with country music star, Trace Adkins, at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, TN and will be performing at Carnegie Hall in NYC on May 2, 2011.
