  • New Trier Chinese Language Students win awards in National Chinese Essay Contest
    Eight Chinese language students from New Trier High School were awarded for their contributions to the National Chinese Essay Contest, hosted by the Chinese Language Association of Secondary-Elementary Schools (CLASS).
  • Two New Trier teams finish in second place at Illinois Japan Bowl 2020
    Two New Trier teams finish in second place at Illinois Japan Bowl 2020 Two teams representing New Trier High School's Japanese program won second-place finishes out of more than an estimated 85 teams from Chicagoland schools that participated at the Illinois Japan Bowl on February 22 at North Central College in Naperville. This success continues a tradition for New Trier's Japanese program; every year since the competition started in 2015, New Trier has fielded a team that placed in the top 3, including winning first place in 2015, 2016, and 2018.
  • Pit Band Applications for Lagniappe-Potpourri 2020-2021
    Applications are now being accepted for the 2020 Lagniappe Potpourri pit band. Applications are due on Friday, May 29th at 3 pm. Informational meeting via zoom on Wednesday, June 3rd at 3 pm. The instrumentation will be determined by the number of applicants. Rehearsals begin on August 10th, and go through September 22nd. Applicants must be available Monday-Friday (rehearsal time TBD).   • New Trier students Will Ryan III and Ashley Kim named 2020 YoungArts Winners
    Two New Trier students were named 2020 YoungArts winners, a recognition given to the nation's most accomplished young artists in the visual, literary, design and performing arts. Ashley Kim was named a Merit winner for Classical Music/Piano, and Will Ryan III was named a Merit winner for Voice/Jazz.
  • New Trier Chess finishes 2nd at State
    The New Trier Chess Team finished 2nd at the State Tournament at the Peoria Civic Center this weekend, February 14-15, earning the highest finish for the New Trier Chess program since 2005.
