Attire
The dress traditions for this event have been created by students. Juniors and seniors tend to wear group-themed costumes and sophomores tend to wear semi-formal attire, but it is completely up to the students to wear what is comfortable and appropriate.

Safety Precautions and Appropriate Behavior
At dances and other social events, New Trier’s priority is to provide a fun and safe environment for our students. We greet students as they arrive and work with the NTPA chaperones to make sure all students enjoy the dance in a healthy manner. New Trier supervisors will require random students to take a breathalyzer test; bags and vehicles may also be searched. Students will not be allowed to remain in cars, buses, or limousines in lieu of entering the dance.
Parent Support - As our students prepare for this event, it is important that parents are involved in any plans. Your guidance is essential to assure students do not engage in unsafe behavior.
Parents should network with other parents regarding Homecoming-related plans. Please talk with other parents about guidelines or questions you have about the evening.
As with all other school events, the use of alcohol, tobacco, nicotine, vaping products, and other prohibited substances (as defined in the Student Guidebook) is strictly prohibited and will result in consequences. In addition, each student attending the Homecoming Dance is expected to adhere to all school policies and rules.
We appreciate your support in helping our students set expectations and parameters for an enjoyable and safe Homecoming.

Freshman Mixer
Tickets for the Freshman Mixer go on sale on Monday, October 2nd at 8:00 AM! Tickets are $10 each. The Mixer will take place on Wednesday, October 11th from 7 - 9 PM in the gyms at the Northfield Campus. Tickets can be purchased here. The Freshman Mixer is hosted by the Senior Helpers and is open to freshman students only. We feel it is important that our freshmen have an informal dance experience, one in which they have the opportunity to socialize with old friends and make some new ones without any concern about dates and semi-formal attire. Dress is casual, and students do not have limos or anything else fancy for this event. Please note that to purchase tickets you may not have a fee balance of $10 or more. If you receive a message when purchasing your tickets that you are not eligible to proceed, please contact Ms. Patt Schneider at schneidp@nths.net or by calling 847-784-3409.
